Cari Hovanec

I am an Assistant Professor of English and Writing at the University of Tampa, where I teach courses in academic writing and literary studies. I’m especially interested in environmental humanities, animal studies, intersections of literature and science, and critical theory.

My first book, Animal Subjects: Literature, Zoology, and British Modernism (2018) is available from Cambridge University Press. My second book, Notes on Vermin (2025), is available from the University of Michigan Press.
